While Queen Maya was pregnant, one night in her dreams a six-tusked elephant appeared. Upon its back the elephant carried a most august, revered, and beautiful bodhisattva that had come from the sky. The elephant brought the bodhisattva to their royal garden. After the dream, Maya knew she would give birth to an important son.
